AMEA Power is committed to upholding human rights and eliminating forced labour, child labour and discrimination from any business processes and activities that are conducted in relation to our business. These principles are outlined in our Environmental Social & Governance (“ESG”) Policies, which prohibits any direct or indirect involvement of any type in activities involving exploitative, forced or child labour and human rights violations. Additionally, AMEA Power instils the human rights principles in the Code of Conduct and related policies in our employees through our regular trainings, both in-person and online. In order to ensure compliance with its principles and ESG Policies, AMEA Power has integrated the human rights audits into the checklist used during the monthly Audit conducted for each Project of the Portfolio. In 2021, we did not identify any risk of human rights abuses, child labour, forced labour or discrimination in any of our Projects, and we continue to strengthen these principles by exercising management and monitoring processes over our business practices.Labour

The Company has provided support on local employment by creating job opportunities for the members of the host communities in Togo through the construction and operation activities. The major impact of this was to boosting growth, reducing poverty and increasing social cohesion. The major challenge faced during this was the capacity building of local workforce. To tackle that and create more job local opportunities, the Company together with the Contractor has created Agreement with Togolese Technical University and affiliated high-schools to establish a program for development of qualified renewable energy professionals.Environment

During the reporting period, the land acquisition of our Solar Project in Burkina Faso has entailed the economic displacement (loss of assets or access to assets resulting in loss of income sources or livelihoods) of 21 Project-affected people (PAP). In accordance with the regulations of Burkina Faso and the International Finance Corporation (IFC Performance Standard 5), the company has carried out the compensation of the PAPs for the loss of land, crops, trees, fallow land, grazing land and access to natural resources and consequently has implemented a Livelihood Restoration Plan (LRP). The compensation to the PAPs has been carried out in different ways: - monetary compensation at market / asset value; - support for the acquisition and development of replacement land; - agropastoral program training; - financial training; - reforestation.Anti-corruption

All company employees have received regular training on our Anti-Corruption Policy. In 2021, 100% of AMEA Power employees participated in 2 hours of compliance training focused on the Code of Conduct, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Anti-Money Laundering, and bullying & harassment.
