For Fiscal 2021, Sodexo LTIR was 0.71. Please note that our calculation is not per hour worked, but per 200,000 hours worked, this is a common practice, as otherwise the number would be too small Sodexo’s lost time incident rate (LTIR) corresponds to the number of accidents per 200,000 hours worked. 200,000 hours worked is equal to 100 full-time employees working for one full year. The LTIR includes safety incidents (injuries) and work-related health issues (illnesses) that lead to an employee being unable to work. The LTIR has been adjusted to exclude all paid hours for furlough connected to Covid-19. For Fiscal 2021, the LTIR was down -7.8% despite including for the first time all Personal & Home Services and Benefits & Rewards Services activities. On a comparable basis, the LTIR would have decreased by -16.9% compared to last year. This information is public and annually audited (page 70): https://www.sodexo.com/files/live/sites/com-global/files/02%20PDF/Finance/Sodexo-Universal-Registration-Document-FY-2021.pdf

    Climate Action

A rich and resourceful planet is indispensable to quality of life in the long-term. This is why Sodexo strives for a healthier planet in all we do. Two major areas of our business activities reflect our commitment to protecting the environment: sourcing responsibly and managing services that contribute to reducing carbon emissions. Sodexo has been working together with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to address the Group's carbon footprint since 2010 and set a carbon reduction target. In 2019 Sodexo confirmed its objective to reduce its carbon emissions by 34% by 2025 (base year 2017) with approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in July 2019, joining the global movement of leading companies aligning their businesses with the the latest climate science and the most ambitious aim of the Paris Agreement, to limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Sodexo has been able to calculate its Scope 1 and Scope 2 carbon emissions according to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and track its carbon emissions reductions since 2011. For the first time in 2019, Scope 3 supply chain information was collected and verified during the annual audit process. Scope 3 Supply Chain emissions have been published in Sodexo's Universal Registration Document since 2019. To date, Sodexo has realized significant Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions reductions. Energy & Resource Use

In absolute terms, in 2017 we had reduced Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 40% compared to FY2011. In 2021, we have reduced Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 37% compared to FY17. Recognizing that a rich and resourceful planet is indispensable to quality of life in the long-term, and building on the progress we’ve already made in responsibly sourcing palm oil and paper products, Sodexo is committed to a deforestation and conversion free supply chain globally by 2030 for the following priority commodities: palm oil, soy, beef and paper products. The four high-risk commodities were selected as priorities by considering both level of risk and Sodexo footprint. The present global commitment on deforestation and conversion free supply chain has been developed within a partnership with WWF. As these commodity specific commitments and strategies are rolled out, we will publicly report on our global progress on an annual basis. The list of priority commodities will be regularly reviewed. This is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 15 and the Accountability Framework. Sodexo has the following targets related to deforestation and conversion free supply chains: 100% deforestation-free supply chain (palm oil, paper, soy, beef) by 2030 100% physical certified sustainable palm oil (cooking oil, frying oil, margarine) by 2025 100% certified sustainable paper disposables by 2025 34% reduction in scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon emissions compared to a 2017 baseline (includes supply chain carbon emissions reductions) Reporting progress: In Fiscal Year 2021, Sodexo: reduced its Scope 3 Supply Chain carbon emissions by 23.2% (in absolute, compared to 2017 baseline). achieved 100% of certified sustainable palm oil (including RSPO credits, Mass Balance, Segregation and Identity Preserved) achieved 32.4% of physical certified sustainable palm oil (Mass Balance, Segregation and IP) achieved 78.8% of spend on certified sustainable paper disposables as a% of total paper disposables

Waste (e.g., chemical spills, solid waste, hazardous, plastic, etc.)

Sodexo is committed to reducing its impact on the environment through a set of commitments and actions highlighted within our corporate responsibility roadmap, Better Tomorrow 2025. One key focus area is preventing food waste by reducing food waste by 50% by 2025 across 85% of our most relevant sites (based on Raw Material Cost coverage of sites where WasteWatch program has been deployed). The achievement of this commitment requires a set of initiatives, projects and dialogues with stakeholders, which come under WasteWatch, our global program to prevent food waste. To ensure coherence and efficacity, a robust, dedicated governance has been settled at Group, Region and Country levels, with sponsorship from the Group Comex. Our approach follows the Waste Hierarchy Principles with a great focus on prevention, followed by donations and finally disposition when the previous options have not been possible.

In addition to verifying that our supply chain is free of deforestation, Sodexo engages collectively with its industry to work on transformational change across landscapes. Sodexo works towards this aim through the CGF Forest Positive Coalition which it joined in 2021. The Forest Positive Coalition was formed in 2020 by The Consumer Goods Forum and brings together 20 of the world’s largest retailers and manufacturers, to take collective action to remove deforestation, forest conversion and degradation from key commodity supply chains. Through the production landscape workstream, the coalition has developed a landscape strategy for members to participate in as part of efforts to achieve forest positive areas equivalent to their production base footprint by 2030. As part of this commitment, Coalition members Nestlé, Sodexo, and Asia Pulp and Paper (APP) are supporting Winrock International in their program to contribute to the restoration and sustainable use of peat in a landscape where palm oil and pulp and paper are produced in Siak, Indonesia. The support from Coalition members is initially for one year, with potential to be extended based on progress and further discussions.

    Overall Environment

    21. Briefly describe practical actions the company has taken during the reporting period and/or plans to take to implement the environment principles, including any challenges faced and actions taken towards prevention and/or remediation.

There are two risk cards that are related to climate change that are included in Sodexo’s annual internal risk and control process: Improper Management of Waste Failure to Act Against Climate Change In 2021, the new materiality study also identified “Environmental impacts of purchases” and “Carbon emissions” as two of the highest and most important challenges for Sodexo and its stakeholders. In 2022, we conducted a deeper assessment of risks and opportunities related to Climate Change following the TCFD recommendations, with a focus on both transition and physical risks. This allowed to better understand the impacts of climate change on our activities and geographies and update the importance of those risks on our business model.
