    Overall Environment

    21. Briefly describe practical actions the company has taken during the reporting period and/or plans to take to implement the environment principles, including any challenges faced and actions taken towards prevention and/or remediation.

In 2021, YPF continued working for a new ambition to become a high value, low cost and low carbon energy company. Engaged towards leading energy transitions in Argentina together with the sector, government and society. We are committed to driving a fair and inclusive energy transition that promotes integrating innovative solutions and achievable strategies while considering the abilities, availability of resources and development needs for each country. The climate action also hits our operation physical risks and those related to the transition towards a carbon neutral economy and energy matrix, including new regulations at a local and international level. In this context, our businesses resilience in the medium and long-term depends greatly on our ability to adapt to emerging challenges and changes across the globe. In this sense, the nature of the activities we carry out has a relevant role in mitigating climate change, especially while renewable energy sources and new energy alternatives are emerging every day. This presents opportunities for not only the energy industry, but for YPF in particular. Our Company is transforming to provide sustainable solutions to the dual challenge of more energies with less emissions.  In the short-term, our focus on reducing GHG emissions associated with our operations allows us to explore new technologies and processes that may increase efficiency in the use of resources. This includes initiatives linked to methane detection, capture and monetization, and improvement to energy management especially in Downstream where consumption percentages are high part of its costs. In addition, YPF promotes a profitable and growing business in electricity and renewable energy through YPF LUZ, and supports the creation of new products and services, such as those related to hydrogen economy and carbon dioxide CCUS technologies and processes, through Y-TEC, a leading national company in innovation and technology applied to avant-garde energy sources solutions. Resilience to climate change is a relevant axis of the Company's new strategy and innovation model. Our climate change roadmap is built on pillars: GHG emission reductions in the oil and gas operations, new low-carbon businesses (such as litio or hydrogen), offset initiatives and operation adaptation programs to future scenarios and potential risks. In order to avoid, diminish or mitigate the environmental risks associated with the operations, at YPF we work within the framework of applicable and current environmental laws and regulations. Our commitment to responsible environmental management is translated into guidelines that seek to assure the efficiency in the use of the resources, waste suitable management and the ecosystem care in all the value chain. Our Operational Excellence Policy outlines our environmental care responsibility and ensures the reliability and integrity of our assets and operations. For each operation and project, YPF carries out environmental impact studies in compliance with current legislation and internal regulations. We also prepare management plans that take into account measures to prevent or minimize possible negative impacts on the environment, as well as monitoring programs and actions in case of contingencies. Both the studies and the plans are presented to the environmental authorities in each jurisdiction who carry out the corresponding environmental assessment processes. Company pays renewed attention to protecting habitats and biodiversity. And all these issues are integrated in its investment criteria.  More information about water,  waste and atmospheric emissions management as well as circular economy approach and iniciatives is available at sustainability report.

    8. Briefly describe practical actions the company has taken during the reporting period and/or plans to take to implement the anti-corruption principle, including any challenges faced and actions taken towards prevention and/or remediation.

During 2021, the Compliance Area, responsible for the development, implementation, management and continuous monitoring of the Integrity Program of YPF S.A. and with the aim of strengthening it and continuing to strengthen the ethical culture of the Company, while complying with applicable national and international standards, redefined its mission from a triple approach: •Top Management: accompanying during the definition of corporate objectives and strategies; • The Organization: accompanying for the implementation/materialization of these objectives in the implementation of the different projects; becoming a strategic partner of the business. • Third Parties: extending our corporate ethical values to the Third Parties with whom we interact, providing value to both the organization and suppliers, contractors and stakeholders, strengthening the Company's position in terms of ethics and transparency as a leader in the Oil & Gas sector. Having a robust, reasonable and appropriate Integrity Program according to the size, economic capacity and sector of the Company is a priority to contribute to the success of the business and its sustainability in the long term. Likewise, the soundness of an Integrity Program contributes decisively to increasing the trust of third parties and stakeholders and thus strengthening our reputation, creating value for both YPF S.A. and those with whom we interact. Annually, the organization and Top Management are trained on Cero Tolerance to Corruption, the key guideline of our Integrity Program; in addition to an annual communication campaign. We also continued to strengthen the ethical culture and the Company as a leader in ethics and integrity and to promote and extend our #ModoCompliance to affiliates, with the strong belief that doing the right thing is the only way to carry out our core business. 2021 Work Plan: Based on the annual goals approved by the company, the Compliance area decided to design its unit and individual team goals, linking them to those of the company to add value. Thus, designed goals related to: I. Ethics & Integrity Management: Actions and improvement initiatives to manage ethics and transparency, promoting the integration of Compliance as a strategic partner. II. Transversal Mitigation Actions: Actions to identify and contain risks and establish criteria and indicators to provide traceability, monitoring and continued improvement of the Integrity Program. III. Affiliates Integrity Program: Design and implementation of Integrity Program in AESA S.A., YTEC, YPF GAS S.A., OPESSA S.A, YPF CHILE, YPF BRASIL, FUNDACION YPF. IV. Design of Long-Term Integrity Actions: Long-term work plan according to the highest national and international standards that collaborate to position the company as a leader in the field. Within the framework of the actions carried out by the area, different shared agendas with business and transversal areas of the company were developed, adapted to the needs and specificities of each area. Likewise, the participation of the Compliance area was incorporated into various special projects, and work was done on improvement actions for existing processes and procedures in the Company and these areas. These actions were developed on the basis of various identified risks, and have a preventive rather than mitigative character, seeking a proactive approach to the area, rather than a reactive one. In the same sense, as part of the monitoring and continuous improvement process, the Compliance area developed traceability and management indicators focus on achieving greater efficiency, with the aim of having accurate and specific information on different aspects of the Integrity Program to be able to design prevention and mitigation actions.
