    Cambio Climático y Gases de Efecto Invernadero El cambio climático se aborda mediante la reducción continua de Gases de Efecto Invernadero (GEI) y se controla la contaminación del aire y el agua, por eso es importante identificar, evaluar y monitorear durante la operación del proyecto de palma de aceite, los GEI que son emitidos hacia la atmósfera e implementar planes para reducirlos o minimizarlos.

El recurso hídrico es vital para la vida humana y para los procesos ecosistémicos, así como también es importante en los procesos productivos agrícolas e industriales. Dentro de los planes de uso y gestión del agua en proyectos de palma de aceite, se incluye el uso de la mejor tecnología disponible, la gestión y manejo de sistemas compatibles con las características de la zona, mantenimiento adecuado y oportuno de las redes y equipos, gestión adecuada de aguas residuales, monitoreo y evaluación, registro de parámetros y volúmenes, planes de reducción y campañas de concientización y sensibilización a colaboradores y comunidades.

    Protección y Conservación de la Biodiversidad y los Ecosistemas. En el proyecto de plantaciones de palma de aceite de NAISA, se identificó como Alto Valor de Conservación a los cuerpos de agua que cruzan las fincas del proyecto, que son un arroyo permanente llamado San Fernando y un arroyo temporal llamado El Mico, por lo que se han conservado zonas riparias a lo largo de la ribera de estos arroyos dentro de las plantaciones, ya que es evidente que estas zonas y las plantaciones de palma de aceite sirven de refugio o alimento a diversas especies animales nativas, además se han establecido compromisos forestales y se manejan bosques naturales para fines de protección y provisión de servicios ambientales en alianza con el Instituto Nacional de Bosques (INAB) dentro del total de las áreas de regeneración natural, con el objeto de preservar y proteger especies de flora y fauna dentro del mosaico de plantaciones de palma, áreas agropecuarias y remanente boscoso.
