Optional commentBorusan Holding is a conglomerate that priorities rights of women and/or girls in its entire operations among all Group companies. Gender equality takes a major place in Borusan’s material topics which reflects company’s commitment and dedication to achieve a more equal workplace and world for women. Several initiatives targeting women empowerment and equality are being carried out Borusan’s Group-wide operations, furthermore gender equality finds itself a core position in Borusan’s value creation and business models. The initiatives such as Borusan Eşittir (Borusan is Equal) has been kicked off in 2015 in order to make Borusan a gender equal company. Borusan Holding, a signatory company to the Women’s Empowerment Principles, has been the first Turkish company selected to the WEPs Leadership Group from Turkey. Borusan Holding and Group companies attach utmost importance to the human rights matters and perceives it as a material issue across its operations. Internal and external audits including the suppliers are performed with due diligence to ensure the full compliance with human rights, as well as binding national legislations and international agreements. As part of Borusan’s ethic code (Turuncu Rehber) indicates, Borusan shows zero tolerance against human rights breaches. Borusan’s human rights commitments that are specified by the ethic code applies to its suppliers as well. In case of any violation human rights, Borusan terminates its business relationship with the violator. In the reporting year of 2021, Borusan has carried out numerous activities to improve its human rights performance, ranging from the promotion of gender equality and women empowerment to enhancing occupational safety and health fostered by advanced technologies such as using image processing and AI to avoid incidents. Borusan employees received more than 132 thousand hours of training in total, averaging 19.5 hours per employee, to build their capacities in various fields including human rights.Labour

Optional commentBorusan Holding and Group companies put a strong emphasis on labour rights and disseminates the good practices among its employees, suppliers and stakeholders. There is no tolerance for any kind of discrimination, forced labour and child labour in Borusan Group, which is also applicable and binding for the suppliers of Borusan Group. Borusan Holding ethic code indicates thoroughly the significance of labour rights in its way of doing business and draws a clear boundary between the labour rights abuses and its operations. Borusan Turuncu Rehber (Borusan’s ethic code) clearly indicates Borusan’s commitment to full compliance with the labour rights aligned with the national legislations and international agreements.13. Labour rights are an integral material topic for Borusan Holding and Group companies. Borusan employees are provided with various training topics aiming to raise their awareness on for instance occupational safety and health, balanced work-private life, ESG issues, forced and child labour. In the reporting period of 2021, Borusan employees received more than 132 thousand hours of training in total, averaging 19.5 hours per employee, to build their capacities in various fields including labour rights. Borusan Holding and Group companies ensure the full compliance with labour rights through internal and external audits, the suppliers of Borusan Group are also audited as Borusan Group has no tolerance to any violation of labour rights in its supply chain. Turuncu Etik Hattı (Borusan’s hotline for ethical matters), an online tool, allows employees to report/inquiry any labour rights related issues in case of Borusan Turuncu Rehber (Borusan’s ethic code) is violated.
