Optional commentOur Preferred Vendors agreement clearly stipulates that at any time if someone is in breach we can basically terminate the agreement for just cause if a vendor is not able to rectify in 30 days. This is currently applied to suppliers coming from corporate side and not directly contracted by the hotels.Concerns and grievance mechanisms

Optional commentIn the supplier code of conduct being drafted and even in the current contracts, a breach of any of the clause can result in termination of the corporate agreement. We are able to control only 15% to 20% of vendors and these are the corporate vendors. The hotels control the rest and we have no info which comes back to us. The hotels are the one who select the vendors for their daily purchases of food, beverage etc. (this can be sorted in future through the Supplier Code of Conduct a all hotels will be asked to implement locally where possible). Any preferred supplier agreement can be terminated with cause within a 90 days notice period and thus any breach in human rights, labour rights, environment or corruption can lead to termination.Lessons

If a violation takes place, we do investigate (i.e. all whistleblowers, Complex Investigations etc.) and then we identify the root cause and take corrective action. We seek to extend our commitments further across our hotels (e.g. ban of single-use plastics, cage-free egg sourcing, food waste reduction programme, etc.). Challenges have included the pandemic, and availability of local suppliers.Anti-corruption
