    8. Briefly describe practical actions the company has taken during the reporting period and/or plans to take to implement the human rights principles, including any challenges faced and actions taken towards prevention and/or remediation.

Due to water scarcity, since 2020, Paraná has decreed a state of emergency (decrees 4,626/20 and 6,068/20), enabling actions to face the crisis, such as the implementation of rotation in the integrated supply system. Faced with this scenario, families living in properties without water tanks suffered greater impact from the interruption of supply for up to 48 hours, directly reflecting on sanitary measures and measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The Caixa D'água Boa program is Sanepar's response to the serious water crisis that the southern region of Brazil has experienced in the last two years. Carried out in partnership between Sanepar and Secretary of Social Development , with the participation of city halls, it assisted families from Paraná in a situation of social vulnerability, through the supply of materials for the installation of the water tank in their homes in order to guarantee the basic right of access to water. The project's goal for 2021 was to reach 1,800 families, from 64 municipalities in the State of Paraná. Under the project, Sanepar acquires and makes available a water tank and an installation kit for families in socially vulnerable situations. he Secretary of Justice, Family and Work offers you an exceptional grant of R$ 1,000.00 to make the installation and also the installation training of the kit feasible. The benefit to families was fundamental at this time of water crisis in Paraná and a pandemic, in which hygiene has been so necessary. The Água Boa Caixa project in the final area of 2021 the public sector ODS award. Private initiative is Sesi's recognition of the initiative, companies, public institutions, civil society organizations and educational institutions that work towards the Sustainable Development Goals in Paraná. In 2021, Sanepar invested BRL 2.9 million in the Project. The action allowed the most needy families to maintain hygiene and food care during the period of intermittence in supply. Specifically in Curitiba and the metropolitan region, in partnership with the Brazilian Army, 2,110 water tanks were installed. The success of this project prompted the definition of new goals for 2021, expanding the scope of service to another 8,220 properties, with materials to be supplied by Sanepar, and contracting a company to carry out the installation, thus generating employment and income.

After the restructuring of the Compliance and Risk Management areas, with the creation in 2020 of the eputy Board of Governance, Risks and Compliance, 2021 was a year of consolidation of practices and the harvest of good results. In unison with the other areas of the Company, in a commitment assumed horizontally, arm in arm between all the departments, we have evolved towards an increasingly honest and transparent work. It is important to highlight the work review of the Corporate Risk Portfolio, the mapping of Internal Processes for control purposes and greater adherence, incorporation and understanding of the Integrity Program by all employees. In Consequence Management, we carried out a strong work that included the wide dissemination of the Code of Conduct and implemented Sanepar's Disciplinary Regulation, which gives more instrumentality and efficiency to both the Conduct as for the leaders; both play a fundamental role in the process of engaging employees to appropriate the values defended by the Company and presuppose the accountability of those who deviate from the Code, with application of the corresponding and proportionate disciplinary measure. A relevant aspect of the Integrity Program's acculturation work takes place through Compliance alerts and encouraging employees to adopt a conduct whole. In partnership with the areas of Communication and People Development, we defined a mandatory path – of Governance, Integrity and Compliance – for all employees in the Distance Learning (EaD) modality. In 2021, two internal transparency instruments were born: the Information Protection Regulation and the Information Role Protect. Sanepar, an avowedly transparent company, seeks to inform, provide quality service and be responsive in dealing with interested parties. Therefore, we are very meticulous about reporting situations in the time and manner adequate, always respecting the legal and regulatory provisions on the subject, in order to preserve the Company, employees, suppliers and busines partners from possible losses and, at the same time, comply with the premise of transparency and integrity. We maintain a website with transparent information, with an established flow of how people can request and obtain information. The SGSI – Information Security Management System aims to exercise transparency geared towards the business environment. With the entry into force of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD – Law n°13,709), on August 1, 2021, we have appointed a data protection officer. We are equipping the Company with tools to increasingly protect the personal data of employees, suppliers and consumers, in order to ensure the robustness of the data privacy policy, as required by the national regulatory agent for data protection. We carry out technical work internally that involved the areas of Governance and IT (Information Technology) to guarantee this security. We are paving the way for increased data integrity.
