Optional commentTotal water withdrawal includes groundwater, surface water, water bought to third parties and formation water (produced as a result of our activities). The last two categories are also measured by the company, and add 70.12 megaliters and 5308,77 megaliters, respectively. In regards to water withdrawal, wastewater is calculated by adding: domestic wastewater, industrial wastewater and reinjection water. Water consumption adds 97, 43 and is calculated by comparting water input (bought to third parties, surface water, ground water, formation water) and water output (industrial wastewater, domestic wastewater and reinjection water). In 2021, Parex worked on several environmental fronts, including actions to contribute tackling climate change such as reducing emissions and working on alternative sources of energy (e.g, solar farms). In 2022 Parex will continue working towards contributing to tackling climate change and will also work towards developing environmental corporate strategies that address key issues such as biodiversity.
