The Very Group is committed to conducting its business with honesty and integrity and is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct. As such it has established an ABC Policy and Programme to address bribery and corruption. This is supported by the Enterprise Risk Management framework, ensuring the controls are proportionate to the risk we face. The Very Group’s ABC Policy is owned by the Chief Risk Officer and is supported by the Board. The policy establishes a set of principles and rules that it has adopted to prevent and prohibit bribery, the receiving of gifts and hospitality and the identification and management of conflicts. During the reporting period, to ensure the policy is embedded and understood throughout the organisation, mandatory training has been disseminated to all employees. This mandatory training is required to be completed, at a minimum, annually. A Code of Conduct on Gifts, Hospitality and Entertaining provides colleagues and suppliers with clear direction when in receipt of gifts, hospitality, or entertainment. Offers of gifts and hospitality are reviewed and are challenged if disproportionate or contravene rules and are escalated where required. Reports are shared with the Board annually. TVG has a Whistleblowing Policy, the details of which have been trained to all employees in the reporting period, including the methods for reporting bribery and corruption, internally or through an external whistleblowing hotline. The Very Group maintains and operates effective organisational and administrative arrangements with a view to taking all reasonable steps to prevent conflicts of interest. Colleagues raise potential conflicts in line with policy and attest annually to this. All conflicts are reviewed by the Chief Risk Officer and escalated as appropriate. Steps required to manage a conflict are determined and approved. Identified conflicts are monitored and reported to the Board annually.
